Mike Gallagher was appointed Strategy Director for Northrop Grumman Australia in February 2018 and is responsible for delivering the strategy across the enterprise. Prior to this, Mike was Managing Director of L3 Oceania, a position he held for over 12 years. He has also held senior executive positions in Raytheon Australia and Nautronix.
Mike served for 22 years in the Royal Australian Navy, specialising in Submarines. He undertook a series of appointments in a number of Australia’s Oberon Class submarines before successfully completing the Submarine Command Course (“Perisher”) in 1989 and is a graduate of the Royal Navy Staff Course, Royal Naval College, Greenwich, UK. After his exchange with the Royal Navy, during which time he commanded the UK submarine HMS OSIRIS, Mike returned to Australia to lead the training and development for the new Collins Class submarines. Concurrently, he was in Command of the second of the class, HMAS FARNCOMB until its delivery in late 1997. Mike retired from the Navy as a Commander in 1998.
