The Queensland Government in partnership with the City of Ipswich will host the inaugural Queensland Defence Summit: Ipswich 2018 – Manufacturing, Integrated Logistics and Sustainment on Tuesday 20 November.

 

The Summit will bring together high calibre speakers from Defence and Industry to discuss topics around manufacturing, sustainment, integrated logistics, supply chain, exports, innovative technologies, research and partnerships. This premier event is the must attend Defence Industry business conference in Queensland.

 

Queensland Defence Summit: Ipswich 2018 aims to drive collaboration and engagement between Defence primes, research organisations and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to further develop an understanding of their respective roles and requirements in the delivery of optimal Defence outcomes.

 

The one-day Summit is a key initiative of the City of Ipswich Defence Industry Strategy, supported by the City of Ipswich Defence Industry Advisory Committee (CIDIAC).

 

The members of CIDIAC are Ipswich City Council, Rheinmetall Defence Australia, TAE Aerospace, Boeing Australia, Northrop Grumman, the University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, the University of Southern Queensland, Springfield City Group, the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning and the Australian Defence Force (RAAF Amberley).

Program

Queensland Defence Summit: Ipswich 2018 will be attended by 250 to 300 delegates from all levels of government and regional, national and international Defence sector corporates.  This Summit provides a prime platform for networking between key decision makers in Defence industry, the sharing of strategies, project opportunities and interactive supply chain sessions.

 

Morning sessions include the official opening of the Summit and discussions on procurement processes, sustainment practices and building the regional Defence industry, as well as presentations from Gold sponsors.

 

Afternoon sessions include discussions on manufacturing, innovation and technology in Defence, SME interactions with Primes and Major Service Providers and strategic insights on Defence exports.

 

The Queensland Defence Summit: Ipswich 2018 concludes with the official closing of the Summit, followed by a business networking opportunity.
